My name is María Camila, better known as Camila. I joined JustPaid at the beginning of September 2024. Ever since, I have been in the position of BDR and pioneer of the sales team alongside my team colleages. From just finishing school, with little to no experience, JustPaid has been my home, my school and now the dream of seeing it flourish.
Where to start? My life as a BDR at JustPaid has been a journey of constant evolution. As one of the pioneers of the sales team, I've had the privilege of helping shape our strategy from the ground up. Since joining in September, I've witnessed and contributed to the many changes our approach has undergone as the company continues to grow.
Are we perfect? Far from it. We're still in a stage of growth and self-discovery. But together with my teammates, we've joined efforts—some failed, others victorious—to understand how to effectively sell JustPaid.
Here's our challenge: though we know the need exists and our target audience is out there, finding the right approach remains a crossroads. People love what we offer, but how do we make them understand they need us? Therein lies the mystery.
Our journey toward company objectives, goals, and dreams is built on small daily efforts that bring us increasingly closer to success. On the sales team, we live by our motto: "The more 'nos' we get, the closer we are to 'yes'."
Our timeline began with reaching as many people as possible through cold calling—an effective strategy that allowed us to build meaningful relationships with prospects. We dedicated at least three hours of our daily routine to "hunting mode," gathering in a virtual room and pushing each other forward.
This task taught us incredible lessons, consistently pushing us out of our comfort zone and challenging us to make one more call even when it felt like our efforts were futile. The life of a BDR includes both laughter and tears over bad calls, insults, and hang-ups—it comes with the territory.
Thanks to the confidence in our sales team's potential, we've taken the lead in reaching those who need JustPaid to escape the cumbersome manual work of invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and collections.
Our role has evolved significantly—we now handle discovery calls and demos, and are empowered to accompany users through the entire sales cycle. Is it easier? Not at all! Being the face of the company, handling questions on the spot, formulating answers, and maintaining control of calls has been one of the biggest challenges of my career.
Being the main representative of the company is both an honor and a tremendous responsibility. Fortunately, we have an excellent support team that helps with technical questions, setting up trial accounts, and patiently witnessing our growth process, maturity, and ultimately, our success.
Without a doubt, being part of the JustPaid team has been one of my best professional experiences. The challenges, objectives, goals, and dreams get me out of bed every morning and fuel my passion to help more people automate their financial processes.
